Legends V-Twin Suspensions
Legend Suspensions began in 1998 when Jesse Jurrens introduced the first Air Suspension system for The Harley-Davidson Softail Chassis. He has continued to develop improved suspensions ever since. Legend Suspensions now manufactures three suspensions lines for all Harley-Davidson models: an air suspension line, Legend Air, a coil suspension line, Legend REVO, and Legend AXEO, a front end suspension line. Legend systems are available for purchase and in use world-wide, providing a smoother than stock ride with no bottoming out under any load condition, “on the go” adjustability, increased vehicle capability and versatility with a lifetime warranty. Offroad UTV air suspensions systems are also available and are currently in use with the US military and countless fire and rescue operations. Jesse recognized the benefits an air spring could have on a motorcycle and had a vision of applying this technology to a Harley-Davidson Softail. In 1998, Gates™ Rubber Company, the leader in air spring technology, agreed to lend their Aramid fiber rubber air spring technology to the then fledgling South Dakota company… this was the birth of Legend Air Suspensions.
The new Legend Air Suspension system revolutionized the Softail Chassis and changed the way riders felt about their motorcycles. Hot Bike magazine named Legend Air Suspension the “Most Innovative Product of 1998”. In 2000 Legend created a new Softail suspension design and was again awarded, this time with the V-Twin Excellence Award for Best New product. The compact design of the L3 and L9 fits flush with the bottom of the frame and offers the quality ride Legend made it’s name on. The smallest details can be the most important, that’s why Legend Air Suspensions puts so much effort into researching, testing and manufacturing the highest quality components available.
In 2002 Jesse Jurrens saw the introduction of side by sides and UTVs into the power sports industry. He again saw an apparatus that would benefit from increased load capacity and a smoother ride. By 2004 Legend Air Suspensions released suspension systems for the Yamaha Rhino.
Today, Legend continues to be the only suspension systems featuring Gates (Vibracoustic) Rubber Company’s Aramid fiber, rubber air spring technology along with deflective disc damping, providing the best ride available. Legend continues to use only the highest quality components and parts, made at their USA manufacturing facility… and all systems are tested thoroughly before being released to market. Having covered the V-Twin industry, V-8 bike and trikes, Harley trike conversions, and Yamaha, Polaris, Arctic Cat and Kawasaki side by sides, the company is currently completing fitments on other domestic and metric bikes and trikes, other brands of side by sides, and even ATVs.
